It's Time... Making Our Idea Come to Life

How's it going pals? It's been awhile...

Let me update you a little bit on what happened. Basically, I didn't get out of the hospital for another week after I last posted. They let me out, but I still couldn't walk or even sit up so I basically had to lie in bed for multiple weeks after that. And a couple days ago, I was able to start walking (not amazingly but well enough). Because of this, we immediately planned a day to film. 7

Even though I can kind of walk now, I feel kind of insecure about it. I look a little funny with the way I've been walking, so I asked Sabrina and Charlize if I could just not be in the video like we had originally planned. After a little bit of rearranging, we re-planned the video so that I wouldn't be in it. We also didn't use any of the locations we originally planned to use, but that was for convenience's sake. 4

As I'm not in the video, I took control when it came to filming. Charlize, Sabrina, and I met at Charlize's house to film the first scene where the girls are getting ready. Charlize and Sabrina sat on a bed, pretending to do their makeup and talking about Parker, the guy in the video. I basically just sat still while they did this part, deciding that a simple full body wide shot would do the trick. I gave them some advice on what to talk about, and how to act during this scene. 5

The next scenes we filmed were the scenes in which the girls were writing in their diaries. We shot these separately. I had both girls lie on their stomachs while pretending to write diary entries about Parker. To make the shots more interesting, I tried to film at different angles, going from over the shoulder to focus on what they were writing in their diaries to just a wide shot of the girls on the bed.

We also messed around with different props, which obviously included the diary and pen, but also different stuffed animals and makeup things. We wanted to make it seem like a classic "girly" room, which kind of fit in with the genre of music video and era of the song.

Overall, it was a really fun day and I was really happy to be able to get back on track!

    Talk to y'all soon,
