Flashback to last year...

Hey ya'll! How's it going? I'm so excited to say that we've finally started filming for our movie! If you don't remember, I'll give you a little refresher on what it's about. Basically, our main character faces the loss of someone important to him, and tragedy follows. 

We started with drone shots of a boat parade, then transitioned to a car ride with our female lead. We chose to use a drone to shoot the parade because Conner had one he needed to make use of. I think the clip looked pretty cool! 

This is where we got into a sticky situation. We haven't technically figured out who's going to play the female lead, since we've run into a few scheduling conflicts, which is why we started with the scenes that don't include people. Obviously, we started with the drone shots. We had some debates on our filming locations. I wanted to go to Dania Pier, but we ended up compromising with Lighthouse Point. It's a really pretty location, so I'm not upset about it. 

Once we got there, Finn drove the car for the car ride scene while Alyssa and I took over the shoulder shots from the back seat. We worked together on filming Finn's hands on the wheel while also getting views of the road and streetlights outside. 16

The hardest spot we got into today was filming the roller shots of the car. Conner (with all his fancy camera equipment) tried to use a gimbal to stabilize the camera, but it was so windy that even it didn't work. To try to work around this, we used shorter clips instead to minimize how noticable the shakiness was. 18

It's Time... Making Our Idea Come to Life

    How's it going pals? It's been awhile...     Let me update you a little bit on what happened. Basically, I didn't get out of the hospital for another week after I last posted. They let me out, but I still couldn't walk or even sit up so I basically had to lie in bed for multiple weeks after that. And a couple days ago, I was able to start walking (not amazingly but well enough). Because of this, we immediately planned a day to film. 7     Even though I can kind of walk now, I feel kind of insecure about it. I look a little funny with the way I've been walking, so I asked Sabrina and Charlize if I could just not be in the video like we had originally planned. After a little bit of rearranging, we re-planned the video so that I wouldn't be in it.
